Great Hexpectations An Urban Fantasy/ Paranormal Romance Series Dulcie O'Neil Book 3 eBook HP Mallory
The third book in the Dulcie O'Neil series is just as amazing as her last two books in this series, if you liked the last two you'll adore this one. It seemed a bit shorter to me, but maybe that's because I anxiously read till I was finished. To give you a bit of the plot line without giving too much away it starts out with Dulcie and Knight going on a date, a date where Knight invited Dia the Diva, Sam (her best friend) and Trey (the goblin who she used to work with at the ANC). Basically, Knight sacrificed his date with her because he was being sweet and felt like Dulcie deserved a night out on the town with friends with all the stuff she's been going through lately.
Dulcie decides to give Knight a chance on the whole relationship thing and its pretty sweet but an encounter with Jack (her ex) leaves them not speaking to each other. A few days later Sam calls her on Monday and asks if she knows where Knight is because he's missing! Needless to say, Dulcie discovers that Knight has been taken to the Netherworld for failing to apprehend Quillan. Of course Dulcie cares about him and she decides to go after him, thinking if she admits it was her fault then they'll have to release Knight and keep her instead right?!
Dulcie experiences the Netherworld for the first time, and let's just say its not an experience she'd care to repeat. The Netherworld is alike in the aspect that they have the ANC and creatures of all sorts there but what Dulcie doesn't count on is being extremely attractive to all the citizens out there because Fairies are so rare. Dulcie made a deal with Bram to go with her and Bram comes up with the "conditions" she has to abide by if she wants his help. I was pretty shocked at the conditions, just like Dulcie was I imagine. Brams there as her Guardian and protector since Dulcie has never been there before and she'd get eaten alive on her own.
As I was reading, I felt like someone was going to betray her and I was just waiting for the finger to point to that person...but the betrayal only comes near the end and its NOT like anything you'd ever imagined. Pay close attention to the plotline when she enters the Netherworld and what she's thinking about and you might hazard a guess at it, but I doubt it.
Great Hexpectations is an intriguing, heart in your throat, enticing read that will leave you screaming at your kindle when you're done going "WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE?!"

Great Hexpectations An Urban Fantasy/ Paranormal Romance Series Dulcie O'Neil Book 3 eBook HP Mallory Reviews
Brilliant! I haven't had this much fun reading in ages.
No Spoilers!
I have to tell you straight up here, that I read the whole series before coming back in here to review the books, which is why you will see the same review pasted into each of the three books in the series. I have learnt my lesson now though, and will ensure, no matter how jolly good the jolly book is, that I will take the time to stop between each, and come back in here to review, so that each is relevant to each book. So, my apologies, but it's the same review for books one, two and three.
I couldn't put the books down, and now own all of Ms. Mallory's books, regardless of which series you read (yes, she has more than one), once you have read all of her books, like me you will find yourself hanging out for the next release. Her male characters are exquisitely yummy!
There are no dragged out moments in this book on scenery or any other boring bits. There's no word stuffing going on here, so you won't be wasting your time reading it.
Did I tell you that her male leads are really, really yummy? Just had to check.
I also have to tell you that Ms. HP Mallory now is my go to for all my Urban Paranormal Romance books - 'cause there that good, and funny to boot.
In my review of A Tale of Two Goblins I had said that the ending had left me wanting more and was hoping that Great Hexpectations would pick up where it left off. I was not disappointed in the slightest. In fact the only way I can describe the first 20% of this book is by saying... WOW! Or as Dulcie would say, Holy Hades!
This book was non-stop from the first page. Unlike the other books which took place on Earth this book took us into the Netherworld. Although the Netherworld is just on another layer -think cake, it is completely different and very dangerous. Creatures also do not appear as they do on Earth which I felt was a welcome surprise. This of course meant Dulcie had a couple of unwanted sidekicks and Bram became even more delicious with his dark tanned skin and violet eyes. Of course Knight is already the most handsome man Dulcie has ever seen but even in the Netherworld he was all the more perfect. And looks are not the only thing different about the creatures of Netherworld... Bram's eating habits were also a nice addition.
I have found myself reading through all of the H.P. Mallory quite quickly. They are filled with such page turning fun and excitement that I find myself not being able to put them down even for a moment.
Now off to start Wuthering Frights, however I do not know what I am going to do after it is finished as it means I am completely caught up with all of the H.P. Mallory books. I will just have to sit and pine with all of the other fans! *sigh*
Dulcie O'Neill is the kind of "troublemaker" that almost every administrator would like to have working for them, even though at times she is a bit of a "loose cannon". She is thoughtful, intuitive, intelligent and "usually" considers all her options before starting to move her agenda
BUT, sometimes she doesn't...and that is when her "gut feelings" sometimes get her in a tight spot.
Her friends like, respect, and more often than not can be called upon to help.
A great yarn which will only make you read the next book because of the final good old cliff-hanger.
Yes I just purchased #4.
