Now, onto book two - Legions. As with most book series, the subsequent books I generally enjoy more than the first, or the one before if it wasn't the first. That could just be me, or it could be that the author improves with each book, or both. Whichever is the reason doesn't matter. This one was outstanding!

The book pretty much picks up right where we left off in The Awakening. First, we get to experience what it is like to go through an Awakening, which I would compare to childbirth; purely based on the intensity of it and that it all kind of just happens while running on autopilot... And that you "don't remember that much of it, except for the excruciating pain."*

You get some questions answered in this book, only to end up with more by the end. But that goes with a series and I honestly didn't care - I was ready to read the third book before I even started on the second. I'm really into instant gratification.

Assuming you have read the first and know what I'm talking about, I'm truly annoyed by one thing. Ana should have held out on Athen! It is absolutely not fair that she gave it up so quickly when he made her wait what seemed like an eternity to bump uglies.

I'm not going to even try to push this book on you. If you read the first, I already know you're going to read this one!

Great job!

The Watchers Trilogy Legions Karice Bolton 9780615579931 Books Reviews

The first book was great and this one is just as good. All of the characters are realistic of couse the story isn't and that's what makes it so great. But you feel like all the people in the story are your good friends and the story seems like it's real while you are reading it. Of course every one is entitled to thier opinion and this is mine, I think the book was wonderful, exciting, suspenseful and I can't wait for the last story to come out. I hope it has a happy ending other wise I will be very disappointed!!
The book is geared more to teens than adults it just did not wuite flow perfectly. The romance is nice and wholesome not all sex. While I enjoyed the series all I could think about was the Twilght parallels. 1) Arie might as well be a blonde Alice without foresight. The two characters are so similar it was obivous what book the author was getting inspiration from. 2) The main character Ana was similar to Bella shes shy, clumsy, did not like her looks. 3) The romance is also similar to Bella and Edwards sweet and caring.
The watchers trilogy 2nd book Legions is a great read. Book 2 doesn't disappoint its filled with excitement, heartache, and plot lines I didn't see conning! The author takes your emotions on a rollercoaster ride. Ana is devastated by the recent lost of her love Athen and will do anything to get him back, but in her haste things go array now she must prepare herself for a future without Athen. Ana is faced with the possibility of a war with the demons, training to prepare for said war, and being the cause of said war. The family is torn apart in more ways then one in this book and leaves you craving the next!
After reading the first book in the series I was really looking forward to this one. If you like the first book you'll like this one because this one is definitely better than the first. My only real complaint about the book is that they have so many homes that they travel back and forth to I found it confusing to keep up with where they were. I would be imagining everything in one town and then find out they were in another.

I enjoyed the twists and turns and I have to admit that I never saw the ending of Legions coming. What a surprise! I'm looking forward to the final book in the series!
Overall, the plot and characters were good, if not a bit rehashed from other stories. The writing and sentence structure could use some work. The sequence of events also became a bit confusing at times. Some concepts, characters, and ideas would appear out of no where, so I'd have to (on many occasions) scroll back through the book to figure out where something had come from. Usually I couldn't find a source. I'm used to writing that flows a bit easier, but I guess this is what you get with YA fiction. Good love story and plenty of action, though. I also like that it's clean, which is a perk of YA fiction, and why I enjoy it! I'd recommend it for an easy read, and will be reading the third.
I enjoyed the second book in the series, Ana has had a lot of learning curves in such a short space of time and things just keep happening. Mourning the loss of Athen, Ana's resolve and sanity is tested as she tries her hardest to get him back. Despite it not being 50 years, there is a complication because Lilith is after him too and he doesn't remember her at all. The battle to end all battles is looming and Ana needs to get her head on straight to fight but her thoughts are only of Athen. After feeling so lost and alone forever, it is hard to fight the overwhelming darkness when her one true soul-mate is in the arms of another let alone a dark demon. This book mainly explores their relationship and the lengths Ana will go to so she can win him back. Winning him back seemed a little easy but that was just a personal observation as I expected more of a fight with Lilith. Why did Lilith really want to hook up with him, was there a ploy involved or did she want revenge? Ana becomes more of a warrior in this book, relearning how to fight and gaining back some memories of who she was before. I enjoyed this book as it delved deeper into her relationship with Athen and the ending was a huge cliff hanger.
