Sophia is on Fate's radar and not in a good way. She isn't supposed to be alive. When she has a vision of how her life would come to an end, she thought it was only a dream. Her psychic best friend also warned her. Then that dream started becoming a reality. Right when she thought it was all coming to an end, it didn't. She was rescued from her death by a very handsome guy. Leo.

Leo isn't supposed to intervene when Fate takes someone from this earth, but he can't watch Sophia die. He's tied to her, always seeing her in his mind. But with each rescue comes a consequence. I loved how protective he was of her. It made me root for him. There is also an off-again, on-again boyfriend in the picture. To say I didn't like him is an understatement. Even when I didn't know why they broke up, I just didn't want him with Sophia. I wanted her with Leo.

When the suspense builds and chemistry peaks between Sophia and Leo, it's magical. They are perfect together. I can't say too much else without giving this story away.

The reason I rated this a three is because toward the end it started feeling very rushed and I started losing the connection I felt with the characters. It lost the perfect pace it had throughout the rest of the book. The flow was gone and I felt bewildered why it ended where it did without more explanation on some points. I'm fine with cliffhangers, but this left too much up in the air.

Book Review- Always Kiss me Goodnight by Megan Gaudino

Sophia Destino is devastated. Her boyfriend Aidan has hurt her and she avoids him. She should want nothing to do with him and she has no clue why she is agreeing to meet him to talk. She dreads her lunch time for that reason. Before lunch though she catches a glimpse of a man in the woods outside her school. He is the most handsome man she has seen. Her interest is peaked and he intrigues her. She looks for him but doesn’t find him and starts to believe she dreamed him. She chalks it up to one of her normal weird dreams.
Then one of her dreams comes true. It turns out she has visions of her own death and Leo Knight refuses to let her die. He rescues her twice and reveals himself. He promises not to leave her. Sophia is scared and torn. Her attraction to Leo is electric but what about Aidan? She is confused about her feelings for both boys. She is also unsure of the world of the Guardians of Fate she has been thrust into. Leo has gone against the rules of fate when he saved her. He believes she is worth it as he finds himself inserting himself into her life and her heart.
However fate will not be denied and Leo’s friend Felix gets involved. Sophia thinks she is safe but her family comes home, Leo disappears and a strange creature confronts her in the park. Fate will not be denied when the path is set.
This book was interesting. It immediately draws you in to Sophia’s teenage drama involving her friends and Aidan. You aren’t sure what happened but I was guessing as I read. Her confusion about Aidan is understandable. However I really didn’t care for her avoidance. She refuses to stand up for herself. I hated that. She didn’t want to upset anyone at the expense of herself. It drove me crazy. Then when Leo appeared to her things started to change. Her character started to change for the better. She developed more backbone.
Leo was a knight there to save her. Totally loved the concept. He was my favorite character alongside Hercules. Absolutely loved the dog. As the story unfolded it had a lot of things happening. You had Sophia’s family dynamics, her friends, Aidan and then the death attempts. She seemed to be juggling a lot especially when Leo saved her and her attraction to him was added to the mix.
The ending left the reader hanging, setting up for another installment to the story. I will definitely be checking in with Sophia when the next book comes out. I give this book a 4 out of 5.
